WHAT
IS YOUR PRIORITY JTRF CHURCH?
by
Ptr. Vince Alcaide
Scriptural Reference: Luke
15:1-31
•
LUKE 19:10.”For the
Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost."
Jesus
told 3 stories to reveal His great concern for the
lost .
JTRF
church, are you, like Jesus, looking for the lost?
I.
THE LOST SHEEP (V 3-7)
•
Why was there little concern for the 99 sheep and
that big concern for the 1 missing?
•
ONE LOST SHEEP IS OF GREAT VALUE TO THE SHEPHERD.
1)
PRIORITY FOR THE LOST
The
shepherd counts his flock ,he knows if he lose
one of them.
A SHEEP WAS VALUABLE!
God wants us to GO LOOK FOR THE LOST.
2)
PRIORITY OF LEAVING - how should we be concerned
for the lost?
“he
left the 99 in the field to go after that which
is lost, until he find it”
3)
PRIORITY OF LEADING -
Read v 5-6 “Carries them home”
WE
MUST CARRY THEM HOME TO GOD
Bring them to the church. That is our mission !
•
WHAT CAUSES MORE JOY FOR GOD, THE 99 OR 1?
Luke 15:7 - I tell you that
in the same way there will be more rejoicing in
heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine
righteous persons who do not need to repent.
II. THE LOST COIN
(v 8-10)
1)
PRIORITY OF THE VALUE OF ONE
Counting the coins if she lose one piece
2)
PRIORITY OF PERSISTENCE
- searches diligently
- would not stop until she finds it.
3)
PRIORITY OF EVEN ONE PERSON GETTING SAVED
Creates
Joy in heaven!
Luke
15:10 - “Likewise, I say unto you, there is
joy in the presence of the angels of God over one
sinner that repent.”
III.
THE LOST SON (v 12-31)
PRIORITY OF PREPARATION
the father constantly wait for the return of his
lost child (v 20-22)
• the continuous longing of the father for
his son to come back
DO
YOU HAVE THAT CONTINUOUS LONGING FOR THE LOST TO
BE SAVED?
ARE
YOU MAKING ANY PREPARATION TO REACH THE LOST?
CONCLUSION:
These
3 parables show us that
• God loves and cares for the lost
• The lost are valuable to God
CHALLENGE:
WHAT
ARE OUR PRIORITIES?
• Do we count who is here and who is not?
• Do we go out and seek the lost where they
are?
• Do we go out and carry them to church?
