THE KEY TO EVERYTHING

FIRST LETS LOOK AT GENESIS 2:15-15 ?
Genesis 2:15-17 (Amplified Bible)
15And the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and guard and keep it.
16And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree of the garden;
17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and blessing and calamity you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.
GOD WAS ESTABLISHING HIS PORTION IN THIS SCRIPTURE. FROM THE BEGINNING OF CREATION , GOD WAS SAYING THAT YOU CAN HAVE ALL THESE OTHER THINGS, BUT THIS TREE (PORTION) IS MINE. HE SAID EVERYTHING AROUND HERE IS WITHIN YOUR REACH BUT THIS TREE IS MINE. IT?S IN YOUR SPACE AND IN YOUR SIGHT BUT IT DOESN?T BELONG TO YOU. I WANT IT. WAS IT JUST TO CHECK THEIR OBEDIENCE OR WAS IT SAYING THAT CERTAIN THINGS ON EARTH WILL BE MINE EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN SEE THEM, THEY ARE STILL ONLY MINE. HE DIDN?T SAY YOU CANNOT TOUCH BUT ONLY THEY COULD NOT PARTAKE OF ITS FRUIT. ARE YOU HEARING THIS?
AND WHEN THEY PARTOOK, THERE WS A PRICE TO PAY, THEY LOST THEIR BLESSINGS!

NOW WE GO TO GENESIS 14:18-20 ?
Genesis 14:18-20 (Amplified Bible)
18Melchizedek king of Salem [later called Jerusalem] brought out bread and wine [for their nourishment]; he was the priest of God Most High,
19And he blessed him and said, Blessed (favored with blessings, made blissful, joyful) be Abram by God Most High, Possessor and Maker of heaven and earth,
20And blessed, praised, and glorified be God Most High, Who has given your foes into your hand! And [Abram] gave him a tenth of all [he had taken].(A)
AND MORE BLESSINGS CAME!
EVEN BEFORE THE LAW WAS ESTABLISHED, ABRAM GOT HOLD OF A TRUTH THAT MAYBE CAME DOWN FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION THAT SOME PORTION THAT WAS AVAILABLE TO HIM BELONGED TO GOD AS A TOKEN OF HIS RESPECT FOR GOD. DO YOU THINK ABRAM KNEW ABOUT ADAM AND EVE ? ABRAM REALIZED SOMETHING ABOUT GOD?S OWNERSHIP OF EVERYTHING.

LETS GO TO GEN 28:20-22
Genesis 28:20-23 (Amplified Bible)
20Then Jacob made a vow, saying, If God will be with me and will keep me in this way that I go and will give me food to eat and clothing to wear,
21So that I may come again to my father's house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God;
22And this stone which I have set up as a pillar (monument) shall be God's house [a sacred place to me], and of all [the increase of possessions] that You give me I will give the tenth to You.
HOW DO YOU SUPPOSE THAT JACOB KNEW ABOUT THIS 10 PERCENT THING? THIS WAS BEFORE THE LAW IN THIS CASE AND IN ABRAM?S CASE AS WELL. HE WAS ALSO RECOGNIZING THE OWNERSHIP OF GOD. DO YOU KNOW THAT GOD OWNS YOU AND ALL THAT YOU HAVE AND WANTS YOU TO HAVE EVEN MORE?

AS LONG AS ADAM DIDN?T TOUCH GOD?S PORTION, THERE WAS NO LIMIT TO WHAT HE COULD HAVE. BUT THEY SAID I WANT SOME OF GOD?S PORTION, OUR PORTION IS NOT ENOUGH. JUST LIKE TODAY IN SOME CHURCHES, PEOPLE WANT TO MESS WITH GOD?S PORTION AND END UP MESSING UP WHAT THEY COULD HAVE IF THEY OBEYED.

LOOK AT LUKE 6:37-38
Luke 6:37-38 (Amplified Bible)
37Judge not [neither pronouncing judgment nor subjecting to censure], and you will not be judged; do not condemn and pronounce guilty, and you will not be condemned and pronounced guilty; acquit and forgive and [a]release (give up resentment, let it drop), and you will be acquitted and forgiven and [b]released.
38Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour [c]into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag]. For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you.
IN THESE WORDS GOD, OUR MASTER, HAS GIVEN US A SUMMARY OF GOD?S TOTAL-LIFE PLAN OF RELEASE. IT TRANSCENDS MORE THAN MONEY MATTERS, THOUGH IT INCLUDES THEM, AND TO CAPTURE IT?S SPIRIT IS TO LAY HOLD OF THE MASTER?S KEY TO EVERYTHING. IT IS TO ENTER THE REALM OF LEARNING TO GIVE IN THE SPIRIT OF GOD?S HEART FOR GIVING.

RATHER THAN MERELY LEARNING LIP SERVICE TO THE LETTER OF GOD?S LAW, GENUINE UNDERSTANDING OF GOD HEART IN THIS AREA OF GIVING MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE. GROWING IN KNOWING GOD?S HEART WILL CULTIVATE TRUE GIVING IN THE SPIRIT OF GOD?S RELEASE. IN GOD?S HEART, GIVING GENERATES RELEASE FROM HIS HANDS.
WHAT RESULTS IS JOYOUS, PRAISE FILLED GIVING (BORN OF PRAYER AND THE SPIRIT INSTEAD OF PROMOTIONS AND SYSTEMS) BRINGS GREAT GIVING ALIVE AND PROPELS IT?S POSSIBILITIES OF RELEASE FORWARD. GIVING SHOULD BE ROOTED IN JESUS? OWN WORDS, ?GIVE AND IT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU.?

OUR GIVING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR SALVATION OR ULTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, GIVING IS NOT A ?WORKS? PROGRAM, BECAUSE OUR GIVING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR EARNING GOD?S PLEASURES. BUT GIVING DOES HAVE TO DO WITH SEEKING TO LEARN GOD?S WAYS! AND WHILE WE DON?T HAVE TO EARN HIS PLEASURES IN ORDER TO BE SAVED, WE DO NEED TO LEARN HIS WAYS IN ORDER TO GROW IN ABUNDANT LIVING. THOSE ABUNDANT WAYS ARE TEETH IN THE KEY TO EVERYTHING. LET ME TRY TO EXPLAIN WHAT I MEAN. LETS SAY YOU HAVE A KEY MADE, GO HOME AND TRY THE KEY IN THE LOCK AND NOTHING HAPPENS. YOU TAKE IT OUT AND LOOK TO BE SURE IT?S THE RIGHT KEY AND YOU INSERT IT AGAIN INTO THE LOCK AND NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO IT JUST WON?T OPEN THE LOCK.

SOMETHING WAS WRONG. IT WAS THOSE TINY TEETH, THOSE NOTCHES IN THE KEY WHICH PERMITS OR PROHIBITS THE KEY TO TURN THE LOCK MECHANISM. IF ONLY ONE OF THESE TEETH IS MISSING, YOU?RE LOCKED OUT. THERE IS A MESSAGE HERE SOMEWHERE.
YOU CAN FIND YOURSELF LOCKED OUT OF GOD?S BLESSINGS BECAUSE YOU DIDN?T ALLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT TO GRIND OUT ANY PART OF YOU THAT WOULD LOCK YOU OUT OF HIS BLESSINGS. AND FOR MANY THAT MISSING TOOTH IS THE INABILITY TO GIVE ACCORDING TO GOD?S HEART. ARE YOU LISTENING?

LIFE IS ABOUT FINANCES. IT COMES INTO PLAY IN ALMOST EVERY PART OF OUR LIVES. BREAKDOWN OF EQUIPMENT, CARS, WASHERS, DRYERS, DISH WASHERS. NO MONEY TO HELP FIX THEM OR BUY NEW ONES. SICKNESS MEANS YOU HAVE TO PAY THE BILL FOR MEDICINE OR DOCTORS. YOU CAN?T GET A HOUSE BECAUSE YOU DON?T EARN ENOUGH. YOU DON?T GET A BETTER JOB OR PROMOTION SO YOU DON?T GET MORE MONEY. YOU HAVE TO WORK 2 O3 JOBS TO MAKE IT AND NOW YOUR SPIRITUAL WALK SUFFERS. NO TIME TO STUDY OR PRAY.
IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYTHING REVOLVES AROUND MONEY. THE ONLY THING THAT JESUS TALKED ABOUT MORE THAN MONEY WAS HELL.
THAT IS WHY GOD ESTABLISHED THE LAW OF RECIPROCITY IN LUKE 6:37-38, YOUR INCREASE IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO RELEASING WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE, ESPECIALLY INTO GOD?S KINGDOM.

AS YOU GIVE, AS YOU RELEASE YOUR SEED, GOD BLESSES YOU MORE THAN YOU HAVE GIVEN. YOU NOW HAVE INCREASE.
1. HOW CAN A HOME THAT IS BLESSED HAVE NO HAPPINESS AND JOY.
2 HOW CAN A BUSINESS NOT BE FRUITFUL AND PROSPEROUS IF RECEIVING THE BLESSING OF GOD.
3.HOW CAN YOUR MIND NOT HAVE PEACE AND CONFIDENCE WHEN GOD IS BLESSING YOU.
4. HOW CAN YOUR BODY AND SOUL NOT HAVE HEALTH AND CONTENTMENT WHEN GOD IS BLESSING YOU.

IF ANY OF THIS THINGS ARE HAPPENING TO YOU, TRY GIVING GOD HIS PORTION. IT WORKS ! OH! BUT BROTHER I CAN?T TITHE, I HAVE TOO MANY BILLS AND NOT ENOUGH MONEY. GET YOUR KEY GRINDED.

JESUS' MIGHTIEST WORK IN US WAS THE SALVATION OF OUR SOULS. THAT PRIORITY IS NEVER IN QUESTION. BUT, AS WE BEGIN TO PROBE THE DIMENSIONS OF THE NEW LIFE HE HAS BIRTHED IN US, IT SOON BECOMES CLEAR THAT HE IS VERY DESIROUS OF DOING MORE THAN SAVING US. HE NOT ONLY WANTS TO SAVE OUR SOULS, BUT HE WANTS TO HELP US MAKE LIFE WORK. HE CAME TO ENABLE US TO ?REIGN IN LIFE?. LOOK AT ROMANS 5:17

Romans 5:17 (Amplified Bible)
17For if because of one man's trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God's] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

THAT IS WHAT WAS MEANT IN JOHN 10:10 ?
John 10:10 (Amplified Bible)
10The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it [a]overflows).
HE IS SEEKING TO DIRECT US INTO A LIFE THAT FUNCTIONS EFFECTIVELY IN EVERYTHING, AT EVERY TIME AND IN EVERY PLACE. THE MASTER WANTS TO FOCUS US ON HIS KEY TO EVERYTHING. THESE WORDS WHICH FOLLOW CALL US TO RELAY EVERYTHING WE HAVE RECEIVED.

LOOK AT MATTHEW 10:8 ?
Matthew 10:8 (Amplified Bible)
8Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Freely (without pay) you have received, freely (without charge) give.
DON?T BE AFRAID TO GIVE, ITS HIS PLAN FOR YOUR SUCCESS. HIS OBJECTIVE HERE IS ?RELEASE? ? TO RELEASE OUR LIVING TO ITS FULLEST POSSIBILITIES. LIFE ITSELF IS ALL ABOUT GIVING!
LOOK HOW JESUS PUTS IT IN THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURE. CHECK OUT WHAT HE SAYS AND WE NEED TO DO. YOU WILL BE SURPRISED AS TO WHAT HE REALLY IS SAYING. LUKE 6:27-38 ? COMMENT ON VERSES:

Luke 6:27-38 (Amplified Bible)
27But I say to you who are listening now to Me: [[a]in order to heed, make it a practice to] love your enemies, treat well (do good to, act nobly toward) those who detest you and pursue you with hatred,
28Invoke blessings upon and pray for the happiness of those who curse you, implore God's blessing (favor) upon those who abuse you [who revile, reproach, disparage, and high-handedly misuse you].
29To the one who strikes you on the [b]jaw or cheek, offer the other [c]jaw or cheek also; and from him who takes away your outer garment, do not withhold your undergarment as well.
30Give away to everyone who begs of you [who is [d]in want of necessities], and of him who takes away from you your goods, do not demand or require them back again.
31And as you would like and desire that men would do to you, do exactly so to them.
32If you [merely] love those who love you, what [e]quality of credit and thanks is that to you? For even [f]the [very] sinners love their lovers (those who love them).
33And if you are kind and good and do favors to and benefit those who are kind and good and do favors to and benefit you, what [g]quality of credit and thanks is that to you? For even [h]the preeminently sinful do the same.
34And if you lend money [i]at interest to those from whom you hope to receive, what [j]quality of credit and thanks is that to you? Even notorious sinners lend money [k]at interest to sinners, so as to recover as much again.
35But love your enemies and be kind and do good [doing favors [l]so that someone derives benefit from them] and lend, expecting and hoping for nothing in return but [m]considering nothing as lost and despairing of no one; and then your recompense (your reward) will be great (rich, strong, intense, and abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind and charitable and good to the ungrateful and the selfish and wicked.
36So be merciful (sympathetic, tender, responsive, and compassionate) even as your Father is [all these].

IN THE LAST 2 VERSES 37-38 WE ARE TOLD:
1. NOT TO JUDGE, AND YOU SHALL NOT BE JUDGED.
2. NOT TO CONDEMN, AND YOU SHALL NOT BE CONDEMNED
3. FORGIVE AND YOU WILL BE FORGIVEN.
4. GIVE AND IT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU.

HOW ABOUT THAT? GIVING YOU THE RULES FOR LIFE FOR EVERYDAY HAPPENINGS, HE SAY ?GIVE? AND YOU WILL RECEIVE.

GIVING HAS TO BE A PART OF OUR EVERYDAY LIFE YET, WE SHIRK AT THE THOUGHT AND YES EVEN IN OUR GIVING TO GOD. HIS LAW IS NOW IN US HE HAS WRITTEN THEM ON OUR MINDS AND HEARTS AND WE SHOULD KNOW THAT THE KEY TO EVERYTHING IS GIVING.

JESUS SO THOROUGHLY INTEGRATES GIVING WITH LIFE THAT HE MAKES IT AS INESCAPABLE FACT. ONLY AS WE LEARN TO GIVE ARE WE LEARNING HOW TO LIVE.
GIVING IS MUCH MORE THAN MONEY MATTERS, IT IS AN ISSUE OF LIFE. CHECK THESE VERSES OUT VERY CAREFULLY BECAUSE EACH ONE IS A TOOTH ON THAT KEY AND EACH ONE HAS TO DO WITH GIVING OR NOT GIVING.

OH! WE MAY TRY TO DO ALL THAT IS REQUIRED BUT WHY IS GIVING FINANCIALLY ALWAYS THE LAST ON OUR LIST? I?LL TELL YOU WHY I THINK IT IS. IT?S THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN BE MEASURED. YOU HAVE A PROBLEM MEASURING HOW MUCH YOU HAVE FORGIVEN OR JUDGED, OR CONDEMNED. BUT, WHEN IT COME TO MONEY YOU CAN REALLY MEASURE THAT. WHEN IT COME TO CHURCH, THAT IS THE BODY OF CHRIST, HOW MUCH CAN GOD GET YOU TO RELEASE?
TEN PERCENT WAS ESTABLISHED AS A BENCHMARK EVEN BEFORE THE LAW WAS GIVEN AS WE HAVE SEEN. IT WAS SUCH A GOOD IDEA THAT GOD INCORPORATED IT IN THE LAW.

I BELIEVE THAT GOD WANTS TO SHOW US THAT WITH THE RIGHT ATTITUDE AND GOD?S HEART, WE CAN GIVE EVEN MORE THAN THAT. HE HAS TOLD US TO LOVE HIM WITH ALL THAT WE HAVE AND NOT TO PUT HIM SECOND. HOW MUCH YOU GIVE REFLECTS HOW MUCH YOU JUDGE, CONDEMN, OR FORGIVE AS ISSUES OF LIFE. YOUR GIVING SHOULD REFLECT THE HEART OF GOD IN A BIG WAY!

LETS LOOK AT 2 COR 3:6 ?
2 Corinthians 3:6 (Amplified Bible)
6[It is He] Who has qualified us [making us to be fit and worthy and sufficient] as ministers and dispensers of a new covenant [of salvation through Christ], not [ministers] of the letter (of legally written code) but of the Spirit; for the code [of the Law] kills, but the [Holy] Spirit makes alive.(A)

IN THIS CHURCH, YOUR PASTOR BELIEVES IN FULFILLING THE SPIRIT OF THE TITHE, NOT BECAUSE WE ARE UNDER THE LAW, BUT WE ARE NOW UNDER GRACE AND HAVE JESUS? HEART. I WILL NOT FOR ONE MINUTE BELIEVE THAT JESUS WOULD ESTABLISH HIS CHURCH AND NOT MAKE A MEANS TO HAVE IT PROSPER FINANCIALLY. HE HAS LAID IT ON THE BODY OF CHRIST TO SUSTAIN ITSELF.
IN MATTHEW 23:23 AND LUKE 11:42 JESUS ADDRESSES THE PHARISEES AND DOES NOT DISMISS THE TITHE, BUT

TELLS THEM TO CONTINUE IN IT. MT 23:23
Matthew 23:23 (Amplified Bible)
23Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, pretenders (hypocrites)! For you give a tenth of your mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected and omitted the weightier (more important) matters of the Law--right and justice and mercy and fidelity. These you ought [particularly] to have done, without neglecting the others
LUKE BASICALLY SAYS THE SAME THING.
MANY OF THE CUSTOMS IN THE OLD TESTAMENT WERE STILL DONE BY THE CHURCH TO FULFILL THE SPIRIT OF THE LAW.

NOW GOD DID DELIVER US FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW. IN GALATIANS 3:13 ?
Galatians 3:13 (Amplified Bible)
13Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse (doom) of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified);(A)

JESUS HIMSELF SAID IN MT 5:17-18 ?
Matthew 5:17-18 (Amplified Bible)
17Do not think that I have come to do away with or [a]undo the Law or the Prophets; I have come not to do away with or undo but to complete and fulfill them.
18For truly I tell you, until the sky and earth pass away and perish, not one smallest letter nor one little hook [identifying certain Hebrew letters] will pass from the Law until all things [it foreshadows] are accomplished.

IF YOU READ ON IN THAT CHAPTER FROM VERSES 19-48 HE EXPOUNDS EVEN MORE:
Matthew 5:19-48 (Amplified Bible)
19Whoever then breaks or does away with or relaxes one of the least [important] of these commandments and teaches men so shall be called least [important] in the kingdom of heaven, but he who practices them and teaches others to do so shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20For I tell you, unless your righteousness (your uprightness and your right standing with God) is more than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
21You have heard that it was said to the men of old, You shall not kill, and whoever kills shall be [a]liable to and unable to escape the punishment imposed by the court.(A)
22But I say to you that everyone who continues to be [b]angry with his brother or harbors malice (enmity of heart) against him shall be [c]liable to and unable to escape the punishment imposed by the court; and whoever speaks contemptuously and insultingly to his brother shall be [d]liable to and unable to escape the punishment imposed by the Sanhedrin, and whoever says, You [e]cursed fool! [You empty-headed idiot!] shall be [f]liable to and unable to escape the hell (Gehenna) of fire.

WE DON?T HAVE TO GO ANY FURTHER, I?M SURE YOU GET THE POINT.
HEB 8:10 AND HEB 10 15-17 TALKS ABOUT WHAT HE WOULD DO WITH THE LAW! ?

Hebrews 8:10 (Amplified Bible)
10For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will imprint My laws upon their minds, even upon their innermost thoughts and understanding, and engrave them upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

Hebrews 10:15-17 (Amplified Bible)
15And also the Holy Spirit adds His testimony to us [in confirmation of this]. For having said,
16This is the agreement (testament, covenant) that I will set up and conclude with them after those days, says the Lord: I will imprint My laws upon their hearts, and I will inscribe them on their minds (on their inmost thoughts and understanding),
17He then goes on to say, And their sins and their lawbreaking I will remember no more.(A)
AND SO, IN MANY ASPECTS, THE LAW LIVES ON IN OUR HEARTS AND MINDS OR IS SUPPOSE TO BE THERE.
WHAT IS A TITHE? THINK ABOUT IT FOR A SECOND!
ITS ONE PENNY ON A DIME. SO IF YOU DON?T GIVE ONE PENNY ON A DIME, WHAT DO YOU GIVE?

I LIKE THE PROMISE OF Malachi 3:10 ?
Malachi 3:10 (Amplified Bible)
10Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.(A)
I DON?T BELIEVE THAT TITHING BUYS GOD?S BLESSING. BUT I DO BELIEVE IT OPENS THE DOORS OF RELEASE FOR GOD TO BLESS US AS WE GIVE.
WHEN MALACHI 3 TALKS ABOUT ROBBING GOD, I BELIEVE WHAT THE BELIEVER IS DOING IS ROBBING GOD OF HIS OPPORTUNITY TO BLESS HIS CHILDREN. I DON?T THINK GOD HAS A CASH FLOW PROBLEM.

ROMAN 4:12 ? ADMONISHES US TO WALK IN THE FAITH OF ABRAHAM.
IN CLOSING: TITHING IS A STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE POWER OF THE CREATOR.
WHEN I VOLUNTARILY GIVE 10 PERCENT OF MY BUDGET INTO HIS KINGDOM ENTERPRISE, I?M SAYING I CAN SEE HIS ABILITY TO CREATE ENOUGH TO MAKE MY BUDGET RUN WITH LESS THAN THE UNBELIEVERS CLAIM HE NEEDS.
ITS DIFFICULT FOR ME TO SEE A PERSON MOVING IN NEW TESTAMENT FAITH RETREATING TO ANYTHING LESS THAN OLD TESTAMENT STANDARDS.
