EXCUSES MADE BY MOSES TO GOD
1.
EX 3:11 But Moses said to God, "Who am I, that
I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites
out of Egypt?"
God's Answer = EX 3:12 And God said, "I will
be with you. And this will be the sign to you that
it is I who have sent you: When you have brought
the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on
this mountain."
2.
EX 3:13 Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to
the Israelites and say to them, `The God of your
fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, `What
is his name?' Then what shall I tell them?"
God's Answer = EX 3:14 God said to Moses, "I
AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the
Israelites: `I AM has sent me to you.' "
3.
EX 4:1 Moses answered, "What if they do not
believe me or listen to me and say, `The LORD did
not appear to you'?"
God's
Answer = EX 4:8 Then the LORD said, "If they
do not believe you or pay attention to the first
miraculous sign, they may believe the second. 9
But if they do not believe these two signs or listen
to you, take some water from the Nile and pour it
on the dry ground. The water you take from the river
will become blood on the ground."
4.
EX 4:10 Moses said to the LORD, "O Lord, I
have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor
since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow
of speech and tongue."
God's Answer = EX 4:11 The LORD said to him, "Who
gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute?
Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not
I, the LORD? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and
will teach you what to say."
5.
EX 4:13 But Moses said, "O Lord, please send
someone else to do it."
God's
Answer = EX 4:14 Then the LORD's anger burned against
Moses and he said, "What about your brother,
Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is
already on his way to meet you, and his heart will
be glad when he sees you. 15 You shall speak to
him and put words in his mouth; I will help both
of you speak and will teach you what to do. 16 He
will speak to the people for you, and it will be
as if he were your mouth and as if you were God
to him. 17 But take this staff in your hand so you
can perform miraculous signs with it."
6.
EX 5:22 Moses returned to the LORD and said, "O
Lord, why have you brought trouble upon this people?
Is this why you sent me? 23 Ever since I went to
Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has brought trouble
upon this people, and you have not rescued your
people at all."
God's
Answer = EX 6:1 Then the LORD said to Moses,
"Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh:
Because of my mighty hand he will let them go; because
of my mighty hand he will drive them out of his
country."
EX 6:2 God also said to Moses, "I am the LORD.
3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as
God Almighty, but by my name the LORD I did not
make myself known to them. 4 I also established
my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan,
where they lived as aliens. 5 Moreover, I have heard
the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians
are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.
EX 6:6 "Therefore, say to the Israelites: `I
am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under
the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from
being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with
an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.
7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be
your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD
your God, who brought you out from under the yoke
of the Egyptians. 8 And I will bring you to the
land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham,
to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as
a possession. I am the LORD.' "
7.
EX 6:12 But Moses said to the LORD, "If the
Israelites will not listen to me, why would Pharaoh
listen to me, since I speak with faltering lips?"
God's
Answer = EX 7:1 Then the LORD said to Moses,
"See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh,
and your brother Aaron will be your prophet. 2 You
are to say everything I command you, and your brother
Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go
out of his country.
Conclusion:
Keep
on coming to God. Keep on crying to God. Keep on
praising the Lord. One day God will bless you. Never
Stop!
Come to church. Come to prayer meeting. The miracle
is on the way.
