MANY ARE CALLED BUT FEW ARE CHOSEN

Reference Text - Matthew 22:14; Matthew 13:47-48; Numbers 16:5,6,7-11,31,32; 1Samuel 16:5-12; Isaiah 45:1-4

Matthew 22:14 - "For many are called (invited), but few are chosen."

Very seldom we hear this statement anymore. Those who choose to live their lives their own way are offeneded by it, but the truth of it comes nearer and clearer every day. The statement is the conclusion of a well-known parable spoken by Jesus to the multitudes who gathered about Him to hear what He had to say -- some out of curiosity alone and some who believed He was a true prophet, which He was.

Philippians 1:29 - 29 For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him, 30 since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.

1. CHOSEN PEOPLE WILL LIVE A HOLY LIFE
- 1 Thessalonians 4: 7 - For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. If you want people to believe in you, we must live a holy life. Our testimony is tainted if we still carry something inside of us that is not pleasing in the eyes of God.

2. CHOSEN PEOPLE WILL BE HATED BY THE WORLD
- John 15:18-19 - Many will persecute you because of what we do for the Lord. If somebody curses you, bless them. The bible says, if somebody hits you on the left cheek, give the right cheek too. Your good deeds will help him realize the wrong he has done.

3. CHOSE PEOPLE WILL SUFFER FOR HIS NAME SAKE
- Philippians 1:29 - Suffering is part of the chosen one's lifestyle. When we accepted the Lord, we all knew that it is not going to be a stroll in the park. People will scrutinize us and our work. This is the enemy at work. Keep your body and soul clean before the Lord.

4. CHOSEN PERSON HAS NO FEAR
- Isaiah 44:1-3 - Fear not for the Lord is with you. Always keep in mind that God is holding your life. God said that He will pour His Spirit on His descendants. He also said that He will never leave you nor forsake you.

5. CHOSEN PEOPLE HAVE NO DESIRE TO GET RICH
- Psalm 23:1 - I am rich in Christ, I was rich in the Word of God, I am rich in Spiritual things. The money will follow you because you made Jesus the shepherd of your life. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Imagine Paul when He was in jail, he was thinking about the Philippians, he was making a letter to them. He never thought about himself.

6. CHOSEN PEOPLE WILL BEAR FRUIT
- John 15:16 - You did not choose God but God chose you. Live a life that is righteous before God. People see us as a reflection of God. We are carrying His name. We are the light of this world. We should do everything we can to protect the name of the Lord. By our good deeds, we could lead people to Christ. God chose us to be His witness and to help save people from evil.

7. CHOSEN PEOPLE WILL INHERIT THE KING DOM OF GOD
- James 2:5 - Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?
